A 21-year old student from Qingdao, China is sister-city Adelaide's newest Amazing Ambassador, following a campaign run across 26 Qingdao media outlets.

Wang Dan's application was chosen from more than 800 applications to the Amazing Ambassador Recruitment Campaign. She will visit South Australia in July to study English and tour the state.

South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill announced that Wang, from Qingdao Agricultural University, would be ambassador during a South Australian Trade Mission to Shandong province this week.

“As part of the program, she will share her experience in Adelaide through social media to let family, friends and followers know what South Australia has to offer," Premier Weatherill said.

“As well as highlighting our world-class education, the aim of this program is to show prospective Chinese students a city that is coastal, vibrant and ranked highly as one of the world’s most liveable cities.”

The Amazing Ambassador campaign was a joint initiative of StudyAdelaide and its Adelaide education partners.

Education is South Australia’s fourth-largest export as reported by the Bureau of Statistics, with the majority of students coming from China.
