Science and Information Economy Minister Gail Gago said the South Australian Research Fellowships program will provide the funding over four years.

“The proposed University of Adelaide Fellow will take up a key leadership position in the newly established Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale Biophotonics.

“The science developed in this area will underpin the development of new medical devices and tools used in the diagnoses and treatment of medical conditions.

“There is an increasing demand for more efficient and effective health care services in the community and the Flinders University Fellow will drive the development of digital health technologies to address this need.

“The Fellow will bring leadership and expertise into the rapidly developing digital health environment and work to identify commercial opportunities and products.”

The final appointments will be based on the scientists’ research records and expertise in connecting science with industry.
